Mexican artisan Javier Servin began his ceramic experience inMexico City. 'Then I decided to start my own workshop at myparents' house,' he recalls. 'It was just my wife and I. In 1996, Ireturned to my village and have been able to offer jobs to morethan 30 master ceramists in my community. After shaping the pieceby hand, we trace the patterns with a burin for the decorativemotifs, which we apply with glaze before firing. Our collectionsrange from home decor to exhibition pieces.'
