1900s; mfd. by The Meek Company (Coshocton, OH) for Hamilton Watch Co. - Lancaster, PA
Antique tin litho watch advertising sign.
This sign advertises Hamilton Watches, a Pennsylvania-based watch brand that has been in business since 1892 and takes after many of the popular Swiss watch brands. This particular piece features the bust of a young girl with a flower, a common advertising choice during the first half of the 20th century, meant to embody the pure quality of the product advertised. The sign is designed with a faux woodgrain background to give a cozy, classic look.
Exhibits moderate signs of wear including some rust, scratches, and scuffs. Back dustcover exhibits heavy rips.
